Double page spread to bleed gutter only 15 inches (381mm) x 10 inches (254mm). Cut film in half--each page 7 1/2 inches (190mm) wide x 10 inches (254mm) deep, except for center spreads, which should be shipped in one piece, 15 inches x 10 inches (381mm x 254mm).

Digital Requirements
Railway Track & Structures is pleased to help you save money. You will no longer have the expense of creating film for your ads. Effective with the April 2002 issue, Railway Age is going completely digital, taking advantage of direct-to-plate printing technology. That means we will no longer be using film in the pre-press production.

If you prefer to supply your own film, here are the specifications:

Offset Film Requirements
Railway Track & Structures is printed 100% offset, sheet and web presses; covers and 4-color process advertisements printed wet on sheet and web presses. Ink press proofs head to foot. Furnish one set progressive and two comprehensives on 80-lb. white-coated offset. 3M color keys or DuPont Cromalin prints accepted only with the understanding that the publisher's reproduction will be acceptable. Supply one complete set of negatives (1-piece film negative of each color properly opaqued) right-reading and emulsion-side down. Screen: 133 line.

Black & white and 2-color advertisements--printed wet on web offset presses. Furnish 1-piece film negative of each color properly opaqued along with 3M color key or DuPont Cromalin print. Screen 120 or 133 line acceptable.

Advertising Service And Composition
A charge will be made for composition, negatives, retouching, drawings and reprints when furnished. Drawings, photographs and film left in publisher's files longer than six months are at advertiser's risk.
