RailComm to provide DOC system to PATH’s Harrison Yard

Written by Jenifer Nunez, assistant editor

RailComm has been selected to provide a wireless remote control 3rd rail and switch heater system for Port Authority Trans-Hudson's (PATH) Harrison Yard in New Jersey.

The turnkey control system will include the RailComm heater controllers communicating to a central office via a dedicated data radio network. RailComm’s Domain Operations Controller System will reside in the central office and provide the operator with a user interface to control switch heaters. The system is said to dramatically reduce energy costs, while also increasing safety and reliability.

The DOC software-based control system is an advanced command, control, communications and information (C3i) server-based platform that supports a wide variety of integrated solutions for indication, control, access and distribution of critical operational data across the corporate enterprise.
