Two Ohio grade crossings to see upgrades

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) approved authorization from the Ohio Rail Development Commission to upgrade two grade crossings in Wellston and Cincinnati.

PUCO has directed US Rail Corporation to install mast-mounted flashing lights and roadway gates at the Eleventh Street (151446X) grade crossing in the city of Wellston, Jackson County. The railroad will be responsible for completing construction of the upgrade by Dec. 12, 2013. Funding for this upgrade will be provided by federal funds.

PUCO has directed Central Railroad of Indiana to upgrade eight-inch flashing lights to 12-inch LED flashing lights at the Anderson Ferry (524-823S) grade crossing in the city of Cincinnati, Hamilton County. The railroad will be responsible for completing construction of the upgrade by Dec. 19, 2013. Funding for this project will be shared by the railroad and the PUCO.
