Wallut appointed president of Alstom Transportation; SVP of North American rail business

Jerome Wallut has been appointed president of Alstom Transportation Inc. and senior vice-president of Alstom's North American rail transportation business.

 

In this new role, he will lead strategy, business development, customer relations, sales and project execution in the region and will be in charge of more than 1,500 employees.

Previously, Wallut was managing director of Alstom Transport France from 2010 to 2014 where he managed high-speed rail, tramway, metro, signaling and services contracts and led the Next Generation high-speed trains project in collaboration with the French government.

“Alstom’s businesses in the U.S. and Canada including the century-old Hornell, N.Y., manufacturing plant have continuously served the U.S. and Canadian rail industry for more than 100 years and we look forward to collaborating with our customers to provide them the next generation of rail transportation solutions tailored to their needs,” said Wallut.

Throughout his 26-year career, Wallut has held various management positions in the transportation industry. He joined Alstom Transport in 2000 as director of project management methods and became operations director for Alstom’s Signaling Asia. In 2003, he became major account director for RATP (Regie Autonome des Transports Parisiens) and RFF (Reseau Ferre de France) and soon was appointed vice president of the Casco Signal Ltd. joint venture in China. From 2007 to 2009, he was the key accounts director for the SNCF (Societe Nationale des Chemins de fer Francais) of France.
