BNSF plans capital programs worth $140 million in Colorado, Wyoming

BNSF plans to invest an estimated $140 million in capital programs in both Colorado and Wyoming this year.
The estimated $60 million on maintenance and rail capacity improvement projects in Wyoming include 1,115 miles of track surfacing and undercutting work and the replacement of 31 miles of rail and about 36,000 ties.
The estimated $80 million on maintenance and rail capacity improvement and expansion projects in Colorado includes construction of a new maintenance-of-way facility, as well as signal upgrades for positive train control.
In addition, BNSF will continue its track maintenance program in Colorado, which will include 325 miles of track surfacing and undercutting work and the replacement of 50 miles of rail and about 211,000 ties.
