CN offers new steel-wheel-interchange service with CSX in Chicago

Written by

Canadian National has a new steel-wheel-interchange service with CSX Transportation over Chicago. The service gives container imports moving over CN's network from the ports of Vancouver and Prince Rupert, B.C., efficient access to key Ohio Valley markets.

Jean-Jacques Ruest, CN executive vice-president and chief marketing officer, said, "Our new interchange service will give CN's customers efficient and cost-effective access to CSX's new Northwest Ohio Terminal and to the important markets of Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio and Louisville, Ky."

Prior to this agreement, CN and CSX exchanged container traffic in Chicago by truck, instead of directly between railroads.
