KCS de Mexico opens new transload center

The Kansas City Southern de Mexico and Raloy Lubricants Company opened the Diamond International transload center for the handling of liquid and dry cargo. With capacity to handle 400 rail cars and 27,000 tons annually, the transload center will be operated by Raloy, whose products are specialized lubricants used primarily in the automotive industry.

At the facility, Raloy receives and transloads lubricants and additives that originated in the U.S. and are destined for its plant approximately five miles away. The KCS de Mexico new business development and transload team helped develop this project by taking advantage of unused real estate and rail facilities.

KCS de Mexico president and executive representative José Zozaya said, “This terminal is located in a strategic area to receive lubricants and their derivates, which will then be transported by train. It is positioned to contribute significantly to local and national industries, particularly those in the automotive sector. For all of us at KCSM, it’s important to be a business partner to our clients. This project will give us the opportunity to serve even more industries.”

Raloy/Diamond president Jorge Loya said, “We are very excited to participate in this project with KCSM, which will create new opportunities for all of us. We are always innovating and seeking new business opportunities. Having a strategic partner with a shared vision like KCSM helps us find new ways to reach new markets.”
