KCS maintenance pattern ensures consistent service

KCS president and CEO Dave Starling, executive vice president and chief operating officer Dave Ebbrecht and several others from the transportation, engineering, mechanical, sales and marketing and purchasing teams participated in an inspection trip of the lines between Heavener, Okla. and Shreveport, La., between Shreveport and Wylie, Texas, and south from Shreveport to the intermodal shipper facility in Kendleton, Texas.

The team was pleased with what they saw and particularly that maintenance-of-way crews had completed their work on KCS’ higher density lines earlier in the year than expected and had moved on to lower density line segments.

“We are approaching a cyclical maintenance pattern that will allow our service to be more consistent and predictable,” explained Ebbrecht.  “I want to thank the engineering team for their excellent work on the line and both the transportation and engineering teams for their close coordination in ensuring this work can be completed in a manner with minimal disruption to main line traffic.”
