In addition to tie installation, the gangs replaced nine miles of rail between Neosho, Mo. and Vivian, La., and the program was completed in 64 injury-free days.
"A project of this size, over this territory, takes detailed planning and coordination across all departments," said KCS manger of engineering and projects Will Long. "All teams worked together to create the best plan to minimize disruptions and we were able to successfully execute that plan."
KCS production gangs are currently replacing ties and rail on the Alexandria Subdivision and will finish their work for the year on the Artesia Subdivision.
