KCSM introduces Safety Fridays, promotes One Text or Call Could Wreck It All campaign

Written by Jenifer Nunez, assistant editor

Kansas City Southern de Mexico (KCSM) has initiated a new Safety Friday program, following an in-depth analysis that found more injuries occur early on Fridays than any other time of the week.

The program seeks to reduce or eliminate these incidents by focusing Friday job briefings on best operating practices and safety rules compliance.

Additionally, KCSM continues reminding transportation, mechanical and engineering employees of the One Text or Call Could Wreck It All campaign launched in 2013. Its core message is to not allow electronic devices to become an unsafe distraction either on or off the job. As part of the campaign, in second quarter, the safety and health team, in coordination with IT, will distribute 140 bluetooth for mobile devices to transportation, mechanical and engineering supervisors.
