More than 55 individuals are representing more than 30 Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA) member companies today at Railroad Day on Capitol Hill.

“Railroad Day on Capitol Hill has proven to be the single most effective way to get the pro-rail message out to Members of Congress and policymakers,” the association said.

The annual event is hosted by the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) in Washington, D.C., and is sponsored by REMSA. It is based at the Washington Marriott Marquis.

“Our members are here today to deliver a simple message to Congress,” said Sean Winkler, director of advocacy for REMSA. “A balanced regulatory environment that promotes private railroad investments creates high-paying, manufacturing jobs in communities across America. Our over 330 members and their employees rely on federal policies that enable a healthy and safe railroad network. We stand ready to assist railroads of all sizes in building and maintaining their networks in the safest manner possible.”

A nonprofit, REMSA is based in Washington, D.C., and represents companies that manufacture and sell products or services in the railroad maintenance-of-way industry.
