The project includes replacing nearly 68,000 crossties, spreading 29,600 tons of ballast and renewing the surfaces at 114 crossings.
UP also plans to improve Wyoming's transportation infrastructure by investing nearly $10 million in the rail line that runs between Rawlins and Green River.
The 134-mile project includes replacing more than 75,000 crossties, spreading 34,600 tons of ballast, renewing the surfaces at 11 crossings and replacing a total of nearly two miles of rail in various curves.
Projects in both states are underway and scheduled to be completed in December.
