Union Pacific Railroad plans to enhance Colorado's transportation infrastructure by investing $7.5 million in the rail line that runs between the Colorado/Kansas border and Deer Trail.

The project is in progress and is scheduled to be completed by the end of December.

UPs work includes replacing rail in various locations on the mainline, renewing the surfaces at 22 grade crossings and replacing five switches.
