Union Pacific will strengthen Colorado's and Wyoming's transportation infrastructures by investing $11 million in the rail line between LaSalle, Colo., and near Cheyenne, Wyo. The project, funded entirely by Union Pacific, began July 9 and is scheduled to be completed by mid-December.

The railroad will replace 43,300 crossties, install 12,800 tons of ballast and renew the surfaces at 43 crossings. The project is one of nearly 1,500 that Union Pacific will complete across its 32,000-mile network this year to help improve train operating efficiency, reduce motorist wait times at crossings and enhance safety.
