Union Pacific received the 2012 Rail Carrier of the Year Award from WWL Vehicle Services Americas. The award evaluates rail carriers on criteria such as transit and damage-free delivery performance. It is the third consecutive year Union Pacific won this award.

“Receiving this honor again is a testament to the Union Pacific Automotive team’s commitment to serve,” said Linda Brandl, Union Pacific vice president and general manager, Automotive. “This achievement reaffirms our unrelenting goal to identify innovative approaches that add value to our customers’ supply chains.”

Union Pacific’s rail network serves customers in the finished vehicle and aftermarket vehicle sectors, directly accessing five finished vehicle assembly plants and operating or accessing more than 40 vehicle distribution centers. Union Pacific’s customer base includes nearly all major automotive manufacturers producing finished vehicles for the North American market, along with tier suppliers and other auto parts supply chain partners.
