Florida East Coast Railway (FECR) has been named the highest valued rail service provider in the U.S. by Logistics Management magazine, winning the magazine’s 2016 Quest for Quality award.

The award is recognized as an important measure of excellence in performance and customer satisfaction. The magazine is said to rate transportation service providers based on factors such as customer service, on-time performance, value, information technology, equipment and operations.

“Our goal is to provide employees, customers and the communities in which we operate the benefits of being the safest and most reliable railroad in America,” said Adam Bridges, senior vice president of marketing and strategic planning at FECR. “We continually enhance our operations with groundbreaking technology to provide on-time performance with the utmost safety, and dependability across all our operations.”

Representatives say FECR utilizes Centralized Traffic Control and Automatic Train Control signal systems to administer multiple methods of protection. FECR also says the Class 2 railroad is currently working to incorporate Positive Train Control to enhance its safety measures.

FECR has also integrated technologies including Trip Optimizer and Wi-Tronix into its systems to ensure the safest possible travel, the railroad says.

The company aims to connect with its customers through its online portal at FECR Connect, offering features such as “order entry” and equipment tracking. FECR released its FEC Railway smartphone application to provide updated information to customers, employees and communities, as well. The app is available in the iTunes and Google Play app stores.
