Anacostia Rail Holdings (ARH) has promoted Pacific Harbor Line's (PHL) Director of Operations Marlon Taylor to a new role with New York & Atlantic Railway (NY&A) as assistant vice president.

Taylor began working for PHL in 1999 as an engineer/conductor. Other roles within PHL included train dispatcher, trainmaster and chief dispatcher, before he earned the title of director of operations in 2013.

“It’s not easy leaving your first railroad,” said Taylor. “I’ve known these guys for almost 17 years. I have a lot of relationships here but I’m excited about the new opportunity in New York.”

The transition will continue the sharing of best practices between ARH railroads and will create an opportunity to strengthen the NY&A’s collective knowledge.

“We are pleased that Taylor has made the decision to join the NY&A team. He brings comprehensive industry experience and expertise that will complement the initiatives and growth that we strive for at NYA,” said James Bonner, vice president at NY&A.
