Anacostia Rail names Jackubowski chief commercial officer

Shortline Railroad, Anacostia Rail Holdings, has appointed Eric Jakubowski chief commercial officer, a newly created position, effective March 19, 2012. He is based in Chicago, where he reports to Peter Gilbertson, Anacostia president and CEO.

His responsibilities include oversight and coordination of marketing activities for Anacostia's six railroads.

Jakubowski has more than 28 years of transportation and railroad industry experience, most recently as director of network strategy for Canadian National. He also held the position of director of interline marketing and was responsible for CN's integration of the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railway.

"Eric has been involved in many creative and productive transactions throughout his rail career," said Peter Gilbertson, president and CEO. "As Anacostia continues to grow with our customers, he is ideally suited to strengthen our commercial team, enhance our customer focus and further our relationships with all our Class 1 partners."
