Iowa Pacific Holdings using RailComm dispatch system on six US properties

Iowa Pacific Holdings (IPH) recently selected RailComm's computer-aided dispatch system to operate six of its railroads located in U.S.

Dispatch is being provided to more than 400 miles of non-signaled territory mainline track. Dispatching operations will be performed using RailComm’s Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) platform. IPH will utilize RailComm’s hosted Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery model, which is designed to allow for operational flexibility and cost savings to the railroads.

RailComm says this solution will help provide multiple benefits to the railroad including increased velocity of trains through the network, a computer-aided dispatch system that removes the risk of human error by strictly enforcing rulesets while issuing train movement authorities and an active log of all actions performed by dispatcher for reporting and investigation purposes.

IPH will use DOC’s Graphical User Interface that includes conflict checking, automatic completion and validation of track warrants, electronic train sheets, track bulletins, temporary speed restrictions and Track Out Of Service alert capabilities, as well as integration with DOC’s Railroad Manager that provides management and tracking of the train resources.
