Kirkland named GM of Autauga Northern Railroad

Watco Transportation Services named Anthony Kirkland general manager at the Autauga Northern Railroad (AUT).

As the general manager, Kirkland’s responsibilities include leading the day-to-day operations on the AUT and he will report directly to the regional vice president of switching. His duties will be to coordinate efforts between all railroad departments and to achieve performance goals with optimum safety, economy, efficiency and effectiveness along with overseeing customer relationships.

Kirkland began his Watco career in January of 2006 during the start up of the Alabama Southern Railroad in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He worked as an engineer/conductor until March of 2011 when he was promoted into management as location manager of Prattville Switching and trainmaster of the AUT.
