Reading and Northern Railroad hires Dennis Shaffer

Reading and Northern Railroad hired Dennis Shaffer as vice president of business development, effective August 20, 2012.
Shaffer has had a broad range of executive experience in the railroad and distribution business, having held senior level positions in operations, marketing, finance and planning for several major railroads. As part of the management team, Shaffer will be focusing on new business development and development of long-term strategic initiatives.
Most recently, Shaffer was general manager of Norfolk Southern’s Thoroughbred Bulk Transfer Terminal in Sunbury, PA.
