TNW Corporation makes managerial appointments

TNW Corporation (TNW), operator of shortline railways and logistics centers, has hired three and promoted one to managerial roles.

 

The company appointed Clayton Kendall to manager, corporate development and property. Kendall will promote TNW’s growth through acquisition and new business development. His responsibilities include market research; identification and evaluation of potential acquisitions targets and development and analysis of valuation and financial models. Kendall will also support TNW’s property and economic development initiatives and will assist in building and managing community and industry relationships.

TNW hired Jason Love as director of business development. The position reports to Wade Hoffmann, vice president of marketing and sales. Love is responsible for developing new business opportunities and relationships. His duties include implementing business development strategies and programs; identifying new business opportunities; evaluating potential new business sectors and analyzing business trends within the railroad industry and related fields. He also is responsible for managing marketing and sales initiatives; servicing client accounts and developing branding strategies for TNW, its three railways and three logistics centers.

TNW also appointed Cene Cooley, a railroad veteran with more than 28 years of experience, as chief engineer. The position will report to Jason Gill, vice president operations of TNW. Cooley will be responsible for overseeing all of TNW’s railroad track infrastructure, maintenance, new track and maintenance planning, including assisting with material purchasing plans; 286 review and plans and contractor relationships and bids.

Prior to joining TNW, Cooley served as regional vice president, Texas Division and vice president of project development and estimating for Colo Railroad Builders. Cooley has also served as chief engineer – Gulf Region for Watco Companies. He previously held various manager positions in the railroad industry.

The company also promoted Brynn Moreland to general manager of TXNW Railway, effective immediately. The position reports directly to Gill. Moreland will be responsible for all aspects of the management of the daily operations of TXNW Railway, including developing and maintaining community, customer and vendor relationships; hiring, training, managing and retaining all TXNW employees; ensuring compliance to all operational safety procedures and rules and assuring accuracy and efficiency of all car movements and storage.

Moreland has been with TXNW in numerous positions since July 2008. His work at TXNW began as conductor-in-training. He subsequently earned his conductor and engineer certifications. Through seven years at TXNW, he has advanced through positions as yardmaster and assistant general manager, before being appointed interim general manager of TXNW in October 2014.
