Watco appoints two to management positions

Watco Transportation Services has hired Brad Peot as marketing manager for the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad. He will work to develop industrial development opportunities, support organic growth in carloads and revenue while supporting and applying the Watco Customer First Foundation Principles.

 

Peot previously worked for Hi-Crush Operating from July of 2011 to December 2013 as shipping manager. He served as an account manager for Finger Lakes Railway from May of 2010 to July of 2011 and for UW-Superior as a research assistant from January of 2007 to May of 2010. He worked as a marketing and sales intern for Canadian National during the Summer of 2009.

Watco also appointed Aaron Smith to site manager for the Condon Branch, Palouse River and Coulee City Railroad.

He will be responsible for the day-to-day operations on the Condon and will report directly to the director of switching operations. His duties will be to coordinate efforts between all railroad departments and to achieve performance goals with optimum safety, economy, efficiency,= and effectiveness ensuring profitability of all departments.

Smith has 10 years of railroad experience and previously served as trainmaster/track inspector at the Swan Ranch Railroad. Before joining the Watco Team, he served as manager of yard operations with Union Pacific.
