Cassidy started railroading in 2004 with CSX as a conductor and engineer. In 2012, he came to work for Watco as the assistant general manager at Black Thunder Switching in Wyo¬ming. He transferred to the Yellowstone Valley Railroad (YSVR) in September of 2012 as the general manager. In 2013, after the downsizing of the YSVR, Cassidy took an operation specialist position in Burley, Idaho.
