Watco names VP of transportation safety and compliance, regional VP of marketing

Watco Transportation Services has named Travis Herod vice president of transportation safety and compliance. In this position, Herod's responsibilities include leading the Transportation Safety Team in safety training, certifications, safety incident solutions and proposals and mentoring managers and team members.

 

Herod has been with Watco since 2004 and has served in various capacities, most recently safety director.

Watco also appointed Bob Billings to regional vice president of marketing for the Northeast Region. Billings will be responsible for providing vision and support for the Northeast Region Marketing Team in efforts to create continued organic revenue growth across the region. The Northeast Region currently encompasses the Ann Arbor, Grand Elk and Pennsylvania Southwestern railroads.

Billings joined the Watco Team in January of 2013 with the acquisition of the Ann Arbor Railroad (AA) as the general manager. He has approximately 20 years of railroad industry experience, beginning his career with Norfolk Southern and transitioning to AA in 1998. Throughout his career, he has been promoted to positions of increasing responsibility within the operating and sales/marketing departments, most recently pre-acquisition, serving as AA’s vice president operations/marketing and sales.
