Watco Transportation Services names regional VP of operations, general manager for AWRR

Chuck Littlefield has joined Watco Transportation Services as regional vice president of operations for the Gulf Region. Littlefield will be responsible for the continued development and improvement of safety, service, growth, people and efficien¬cy in all areas of the Gulf Region.

Littlefield comes to WTS from Richard Best Transfer Inc., where he has served as chief op¬erating officer since 2008. He has also been a Lecturer at California State University at Fresno and taught Supply Chain Management and Logistics to college seniors for the Sid Craig School of Business since 2009. He was vice president of port terminals for American Commercial Barge Lines from 2007 to 2008 and was vice president opera¬tions at OmniTRAX, Northern Region, from 2005 to 2007. He worked for Rail¬America from 2002 to 2005 as a general manager and held several positions with BNSF and Union Pacific, starting in 1985.

Additionally, Kevin Harris has accepted the position of general man¬ager for the Austin Western Railroad (AWRR). He will be responsible for the day-to-day operations on the AWRR, including achieving performance goals with optimum safety, economy, efficiency and effectiveness.

Harris previously worked for Genesee & Wyoming, where held multiple management positions over the past six years. His most recent position prior to joining Watco was operations manager for the Port of San Antonio and he set multiple safety records for his region by going four years injury-free and cut human factor incidents by more than 50 percent. He began his career with CSX Transportation in the customer service field.
