RailComm to provide remote control yard system for Jim Walters Resources

Written by jrood

RailComm will provide a remote control system at Jim Walters Resources' mining facility in Brookwood, Ala. RailComm's Domain Operations Controller (DOC) system will be used to monitor the shove track lights.

The DOC System will include a workstation that allows the user to monitor device status and review operation logs of all system activity. The workstation will display a graphical representation of the yard area and the user will be able to view all devices in the field.

The system will also include remote control of six switch locations via DTMF communications. This will allow the operators on board a train to throw switches from their DTMF radios. Each switch machine will be installed with train-detection technology to ensure that the switch is not thrown while beneath a train.
