Alaska Railroad seeks new President & CEO

The Alaska Railroad Corporation Board of Directors is now accepting applications for the position of president & chief executive officer of the Alaska Railroad. The president & CEO position is responsible for the day-to-day management of the affairs and operations of the corporation. The position reports directly to the seven-member Alaska Railroad Board of Directors.  

The Alaska Railroad is
seeking a decisive leader with strong business experience. Applicants should
have experience in the transportation industry or have an in-depth
understanding of supply chain management. Experience working in the Alaska
business community is preferred.

The Railroad offers
year-round passenger and freight train service and is a self-sustaining,
state-owned corporation. With more than 650 miles of track, the Alaska Railroad
serves more than 13 different municipalities and boroughs, connecting ports and
communities from the Gulf of Alaska to the Interior. Headquartered in
Anchorage, the Alaska Railroad has nearly 800 full-time employees and generates
more than $170 million in revenue yearly. The corporation’s assets are valued
at over $860 million dollars.
