Aurora GO customers now have more parking options

A five-level parking structure opened at Aurora, Ont., GO Station near Toronto offering customers 866 new parking spaces. Customers at this station now have access to more than 1,700 parking spots, making it easier to leave their cars behind.

"York Region is one
of the fastest growing areas in Canada," said Gary McNeil, GO Transit’s
Managing Director. "Our challenge is to meet their interregional
transportation needs, and this new parking structure does just that –
encouraging people to park their cars and take GO to their destination. The
service is easy, fast, safe and convenient."

The new structure was
built with green features, including a ‘white roof’ to mitigate the heat island
effect and reduce the heat reflection on the neighboring area. The structure
also provides provisions for five vehicle re-charging stations for future
electric cars.

In addition to four
elevators, four stairwells and 15 accessible parking spaces, the structure
includes two vehicular entry points, one from Wellington Street East and a
second from Industrial Parkway South.
