Axion selling plastic ties to Moroccan National Railway

Written by jrood

Axion International received its first two purchase orders for railroad crossties made out of Recycled Structural Composite (RSC) from Moroccan National Railway Company (ONCF). ONCF operates more than 1,100 miles of track throughout Morocco and carried more than 29 million passengers last year.

"Axion is extremely
pleased to enter into business with ONCF," stated James Kerstein, Axion CEO. "Strategically,
it is critical for Axion to establish a presence in International markets.
Being able to meet the needs of global customers – and in particular their
distinctive railway specifications – is a testimony to the ease with which RSC
can be customized to meet different customers’ needs."

"ONCF’s selection of
Axion RSC was driven by the fact that in virtually every conceivable situation
RSC is less expensive than traditional solutions, it is easier to install and
it lasts much longer," continued Kerstein. "As a green company promoting clean
solutions, Axion is extremely pleased to establish a relationship with one of
the largest rail systems on the Africa continent."

Axion International’s technology
was developed in conjunction with Rutgers University’s Materials Sciences and
Engineering Department.
