Written by jrood

Work to reconstruct the pavement and track at the Villa Terrace crossing in San Mateo will begin April 16. The crossing will be closed from 8:00 a.m. Friday, April 16, until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 20.

The work is part of a
10-week project to rebuild three railroad crossings in the cities of Burlingame
and San Mateo. The work at Peninsula Avenue in Burlingame has been completed.
After the Villa Terrace crossing has been competed, work will begin on the
Bellevue Avenue crossing.

Work was done on fiber
optic cables near the San Jose Diridon station April 9-11, from 9:00 p.m. until
6:00 a.m. the following morning.

On April 15, Caltrain will
use a track geometry car to measure deviations in the tracks between San
Francisco and San Jose. This on-track vehicle uses a sophisticated computer
system to measure and record the alignment of the track.

April 11-15, crews will
weld on the tracks in San Francisco and will replace crossties on the tracks
between the South San Francisco and Millbrae stations.

April 11-16, crews will
resurface the tracks between the San Mateo and Millbrae stations. April 12 and 13,
crews will resurface the tracks between the Sunnyvale and Santa Clara stations.
