Caltrain construction, maintenance update: July 10-16

From Saturday, July 10, to Friday, July 16, crews will continue a project that will improve the rail crossings at Mary and Sunnyvale avenues in Sunnyvale, Calif. Crews will grade and trench the site and make wiring modifications in the signal houses. The work is part of a VTA project to improve safety at eight crossings in Sunnyvale, Mountain View and Palo Alto.

July 11-16, crews will be
working on existing signal houses close to the San Jose Diridon station, as
well as those near Julian, Auzerais, Virginia and Delmas streets.

July 12-13, crews will
perform braking-curve tests between the Belmont and Redwood City stations. July
14-15, crews will perform braking- curve tests between the San Antonio and
Sunnyvale stations.

July 11-15, crews will weld
and resurface the tracks and replace crossties from the Sunnyvale station to a
little south of Lawrence station. July 11- 15, crews will be welding joints and
performing maintenance between the San Jose Diridon and Tamien stations.
