Crews complete tile work in Northstar Fridley Station pedestrian tunnel

Crews continue to work on the Northstar commuter rail line in Minnesota in preparation for a November opening. LRT and Northstar system testing continues. Communications system testing and programming continued at the LRT station. Punchlist work is ongoing at the Northstar and LRT stations and in the stations in Coon Rapids, Anoka, Elk River and Big Lake.

In Fridley, Minn.,
crews finished the concrete pours for the station platform. Concrete pours will
continue next week for sidewalks. Crews will begin installation of station
platform pavers, windowsills, rain gutters, door frames and roof decking the
week of Sept. 14. Painting of the steel on the station platform continued is
scheduled to continue. Tile work in the tunnel was completed while electrical
work in the tunnel continues. Preparation for work on the sidewalks and roadway
on 61st Way also continues. Milling of 61st Way is scheduled to occur at the
end of the week of Sept. 14. Concrete paving of the cul-de-sac at the east end
of 61st Way was completed.
