CTA. Metra 14th Annual Transportation Symposium helps suppliers

Written by jrood

The Chicago Transit Authority joins the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA), Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Metra and Pace to present the 14th Annual Transportation Symposium & Business Exchange.  The symposium takes place on Tuesday, November 30 at the Chicago Hilton and Towers.

The Transportation Symposium
is an opportunity for vendors and contractors to engage with the leading
suppliers, contractors, purchasing representatives and officials from each of
the Chicago area’s major transportation agencies and learn what business
prospects are available and how to apply for contracts.

Attendees will find a
variety of presentations.  They
include: agency procurement forecasts for 2011, open business discussion with
procurement administrators, a procurement workshop, vendor exhibits and a networking
reception. Vendors and contractors will have one-on-one business exchanges with
architects, engineers and professional service firms.

This event is also an
excellent networking opportunity for disadvantaged business enterprise firms
(DBE).  DBE firms can meet with
procurement representatives from each transportation agency.

Originally founded by the
CTA as the Strategic Alliance Initiative in 1994, the symposium evolved to
include the RTA, IDOT, Metra and Pace, which have served as co-sponsors for the
last 13 years.
