Delcan introduces Rail and Transit Group

Written by jrood

Delcan Corporation, a multidisciplinary engineering, planning, management and technology consulting firm, added a new Rail and Transit group.

The Rail and Transit group will bring together under all rail and transit systems resources, which include expertise in vehicles, trackwork, signaling, communications, control centers, traction power, systems engineering and integration, test and commissioning and safety assurance.

Since Delcan acquired J.H. Parker & Associates, Inc. (PAI), a rail transportation consulting company in 2007, Delcan and PAI have mutually advanced in the highly specialized area of rail transportation systems. After successfully leading and nurturing PAI for more than 20 years, PAI President Jim Parker retired at the end of 2010.

Delcan Vice President Alan Rumsey will lead the new Rail and Transit group, which includes all Delcan and PAI transit and rail systems. He is responsible for the pursuit and implementation of rail and transit systems projects worldwide. The new group not only acknowledges Delcan’s current capabilities and strengths in this area, but also shows the firms responsiveness to the industries growing trends. Delcan’s range of services in this industry will be expanded to cover vehicle and systems engineering.
