Efren Alcala joins Parson Brinckerhoff

February 14, 2001 Efren Alcala has been named a supervising engineer in the New York City office of Parsons Brinckerhoff. In his new position, Alcala will initially be responsible for the design of plumbing and fire protection systems for the East Side Access project, which is extending The Long Island Rail Road into Grand Central Terminal.

Alcala has 35 years of experience
in the design of plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial,
institutional, health care and industrial buildings. He has worked on major
transit facilities, ports projects, hospitals, oil refineries, university
buildings and power plant projects in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to joining PB,
he was a supervising engineer for a New York transportation-engineering firm.

Alcala earned a bachelor of
science degree in mechanical engineering at Leyte Institute of Technology,
Philippines, and is a registered professional engineer in New York, New Jersey
and Connecticut. His professional affiliations include the National Society of
Professional Engineers, American Society of Plumbing Engineers, and National
Fire Protection Association.
