European-American transit conference set for May in Cincinnati

February 14, 2001 International, national and regional experts in transportation will gather in Cincinnati to present the latest developments in Urban and Regional Public Transportation at the European-American Chamber of Commerce Conference on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, in Cincinnati. The conference keynote address will be delivered by John D. Porcari, Deputy Secretary of Transportation, U.S. Department of Transportation.

"This
is the first public transportation conference to bring together experts and policymakers
from both sides of the Atlantic in this format and we are thrilled that the EACC
could bring this to Cincinnati," said Anne Cappel, Executive Director of the EACC.
"This Conference is a tremendous opportunity to gain insight into public rail transportation,
encouraging debate and directly exchanging ideas, knowledge and experience
between the U.S. and Europe."

The
Conference will present a broad perspective on high-speed rail and commuter
rail, comparing priorities of the U.S. and Europe and reflecting on the implications
of those priorities on the Great Lakes Region.

Speakers
include Joe Szabo, Administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration, U.S. Department
of Transportation; Jolene Molitoris, Director, Ohio Department of Transportation;
Hervé Le Caignec, Senior Vice-President, International Business Development,
SNCF; John Rice, Vice Chairman, GE; Roxanne Qualls, Vice Mayor, City of
Cincinnati, among others. Hundreds of decision makers representing domestic and
international business concerns, as well as local, state and federal
government, are expected to attend.

A
Supplier and Partner Expo and networking reception will immediately follow the
conference. The Gala Dinner, featuring France’s Minister of Foreign Trade, past
President SNCF and RATP, Anne-Marie Idrac as keynote speaker, will conclude the
event.
