At the meeting, the board approved an intergovernmental agreement between Will County and the Village of Frankfort for pedestrian crossing facilities at the intersection of Laraway Road and 116th Avenue across the EJ&E railroad right-of-way. Recently, at its June 1 meeting, the board approved the license agreement between the EJ&E Railway and Frankfort and Mokena to construct a sidewalk and multi-use path across the right-of-way.
Residents were invited to a Quiet Zone Open House on Sept. 14 at Hickory Creek Middle School. Robert E. Hamilton Consulting Engineers were on hand at the open house to review with residents the information concerning the designation of a Quiet Zone.
The village received $2.7 million in mitigation funds and has spent $80,000 to date to improve property of residents.
