Sweeney's projects include managing the infrastructure rehabilitation of Grand Central Terminal for Metro North Railroad and the restoration of the Times Square Station for the New York City Transit Authority. He was also the chief engineer for the MTA Capital Construction's new terminal station as part of the East Side Access project. Sweeney has served as the project executive for the Mass Transit Tunnel for the New Jersey Transit, the Croton-Harmon Shop and Yard Rehabilitation and the reconstruction of the Brown Line for the Chicago Transit Authority.
Sweeney came to TranSystems from AECOM, where he previously spent his entire career and was most recently vice president for all transit activity in the Eastern half of the US and Canada.
Sweeney earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Pratt Institute and an M.S. in Construction Engineering and Management from Polytechnic University of New York.
