Two students are enrolled at Washington State University’s Vancouver Campus this fall with scholarship aid from the Vancouver-based Omega Industries, Inc.

This year’s award recipients are Maria Sokolava, who received $1,500, and Dmitry Nikiforov, who was awarded $1,000.

“We’ve been providing scholarships since 2012 and plan to continue this honored tradition,” company owner Isidoros Garifalakis said. “It’s a great way to give back to our community and to promote education.”

Omega Industries has provided 10 scholarships to students since 2012, including this year’s recipients.

“Omega is proud to help our employees’ family with their education and we know any amount helps,” Garifalakis said.

All scholarship applicants are required to submit an essay detailing their career goals and answer a series of related questions. The submissions are reviewed and the two applicants who are deemed the most qualified are awarded a scholarship to use toward tuition at any college.
