Osmose celebrates its 75 Anniversary

Written by jrood

In the fall of 1934, several Buffalo businessmen joined forces to create the Osmose Wood Preserving Company of America, building on patents for a unique, non-pressurized wood preservation. During the following 75 years,  Osmose continued to advance the wood preservation science and grew into various related divisions serving the railroad, utility and consumer marketplaces. Close relationships with an evolving customer base encouraged Osmose to embark on infrastructure inspection, maintenance and repair solutions for the railroad industry.

Today, Osmose Railroad
Services, Inc., is one of several expanding Osmose companies providing
solutions for a variety of needs within and outside of the railroad industry. While
continuing work to extend the service life of timber structures, the company’s
list of services has expanded. Osmose is now at the forefront for detailed
bridge inspection and the repair of concrete, timber and steel structures
throughout North America helps to keep the railroad industry safe, efficient
and a reliable partner for America’s economy.

Osmose offers turnkey
design/build services as railroads seek to replace older bridges to allow for
capacity upgrades. With the company’s aggressive expansion targeting digital
capture and storage, Osmose can now offer more accurate and faster transfer of
field data to customer data bases.

As the railroad industry
contributes to a "greener economy," Osmose is positioned to help with its
expanding bridge services. With 75 years of company experience, Osmose will
continue to build on its extensive customer base with customized customer
service solutions.
