Unit Rail names Thai Nguyen design engineer

Written by

Unit Rail, the rail fastening division of Amsted Rail, named Thai Nguyen design engineer, responsible for the design, test and manufacturability of fastening components for the company's end users in both the freight and transit railroad segments.

"Unit Rail has been searching for a qualified design engineer for several months.  Finding such a high-quality candidate with industry experience will significantly strengthen our new product development immediately," said Wes Hodges, vice president, Unit Rail.

Nguyen attended Rutgers University where he earned a BS in engineering and he received a Master's of Engineering with a concentration in Mechanical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.  He has more than five years of experience designing track-fastening products with Pandrol.

This is a strategic addition for Unit Rail in that Nguyen will add to their ability to continue to expand its product offering beyond that of just anchors. His expertise in product design and test add an increased level of competency to Unit Rail in both of these areas.
