Caltrain prepares for $147-million grade-separation project

California's Caltrain will be working on a $147-million project will elevate its tracks above three existing at-grade street crossings at San Bruno, San Mateo and Angus avenues next week. A new, elevated Caltrain station between San Bruno and San Mateo avenues will replace the station at Sylvan Avenue.

Caltrain service will not be disrupted during this time.

Currently, crews will be setting panels, pouring concrete for stairwells, transporting and placing ballast onto tracks on top of the new structure and forming ramps and a water feature for Posy Park.

Work will occur overnight from May 12, through May 17. Crews will be installing wiring and drywall and pouring ballast onto the track area on top of the new structure with generators, lights, forklift and light trucks.
