In Denver, Colo., the Regional Transportation District (RTD) celebrates milestones on its Eagle P3 project and I-225 Rail Line.

The Eagle P3 project, which comprises three passenger rail lines and a passenger rail maintenance facility, is halfway to completion as of the week of August 20, 2013.

The three lines are the East Rail Line to Denver International Airport, the Gold Line to Arvada and Wheat Ridge and the first segment of the Northwest Rail Line to south Westminster. These three lines and the new passenger rail maintenance facility will open in 2016.

Also, crews started work in mid-August to install bridge girders for the I-225 Rail Line north of the Nine Mile Station. Trains running between Nine Mile and the Iliff Station will cross over the northbound lanes of the highway. The Iliff Station will be on the east side of I-225 and the Nine Mile Station is in the median. The I-225 Rail Line will be open for service in 2016.
