The California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) has appointed Melissa DuMond as director of planning and integration. She will be responsible for advancing CHSRA's implementation of the high-speed rail program by coordinating station area development, overseeing the advancement of integrated service with other rail providers and management of general corridor planning activities.

“It is critical to the success of this transformative program that we have strong leaders in place to effectively integrate and implement our operations,” said CHSRA Chief Executive Officer Jeff Morales. “Melissa’s appointment underscores our commitment to quality and efficiency as we continue to move forward to build the nation’s first high-speed rail system.”

In her role, DuMond will work closely and collaboratively with engineering, operations and the regional directors to assist in various program functions and provide critical support to CHSRA’s planning operations.

DuMond has extensive knowledge of the transportation industry and environmental practices. For the past five years, she has served as southwest regional manager for the Federal Railroad Administration, where she supported the development of California’s high-speed rail system.
