The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) received its final rail shipment for its transit system, 88 miles of running rail totaling 2,600 tons.

Once installed, the rail will carry trains from East Kapolei to Ala Moana Center, as well as into the maintenance and storage facility.

The first shipment of rail arrived in November 2012, which included 3,000 tons of steel track. The steel rail was manufactured in Pueblo, Colo., and made specifically for the transit project. The total cost for all the products is $77.4 million.
