In St. Louis, Mo., studies have been planned to evaluate three potential MetroLink routes in St. Louis County, pending approval by city council. The routes were identified in the region's long-range transportation plan developed by the East-West Gateway Council of Governments based on public input.

“I am excited to be moving ahead with MetroLink planning in St. Louis County,” County Executive Stenger said. “We had originally planned to study only one route, but after hearing from residents and speaking with experts, it became apparent that all three corridors deserve a closer look.”

The three routes are: Daniel Boone (Clayton Station to Westport), MetroNorth (North Hanley Station to I-270) and MetroSouth (Shrewsbury Station to Butler Hill Road).
“These studies are required to secure federal funding that will be an important part of any MetroLink expansion,” Stenger said. “The findings will show us which of these routes are most likely to qualify for those federal dollars.”

Funds to conduct these studies are made available through the voter-approved Proposition A sales tax.
