July 2 marks the beginning of year two of construction on Oregon's Triment Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Bridge. During the first year of construction, 64 firms worked on the bridge, which is now 41 percent complete. Overall project construction jobs total 1,525.

Since the Federal Transit Administration signed off on the larger Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Project and committed to 50 percent funding, construction is under way along the entire 7.3-mile extension.

The 7.3-mile project is the region’s sixth Trimet MAX construction project to be built and extends from the terminus of the MAX Green and Yellow lines at Portland State University in Downtown Portland to South Waterfront, SE Portland, Milwaukie and North Clackamas County. The project is expected to be completed by September 2015.
