TriMet's Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Bridge over the Willamette River is now connected to land in the South Waterfront area, making the overall 7.3-mile transit project 70 percent complete.

A concrete closure pour on the westside bridge deck was made and for the first time, it connected the deck to the west landside abutment; the last permanent cables will be installed on the east tower later this week.

The Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Bridge
is the first bridge to be built over the Willamette River in Portland in more than 40 years and will be the first cable-stayed bridge for the region, extending 1,720 feet over the river.

The Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Project is the region’s sixth MAX construction project to be built and extends from the terminus of the MAX Green and Yellow lines at Portland State University in Downtown Portland to South Waterfront, SE Portland, Milwaukie and North Clackamas County. The 10-station line extension, which will bring the MAX system to 60 miles and 97 stations and will open September 12, 2015
