As part of the Utah Transit Authority's (UTA) Salt Lake City TRAX Station Tactile Tile Replacements and TRAX Grade Crossing Replacements light-rail project, Oldcastle Precast's Ogden, Utah, facility was contracted to supply 2,400 track feet of their StarTrack Grade Crossing modules.

UTA needed to replace the TRAX grade crossings at 10 separate locations along the light-rail line. The grade crossings on the TRAX north/south line were 13 years old and approaching the end of their useful. Oldcastle Precast’s StarTrack grade crossings will be used.

Oldcastle Precast was contracted by Stacy & Witbeck, Inc., to manufacture and deliver 320 7.5-foot precast concrete crossing modules for the 10 varying sized TRAX double track railroad crossings.

The new $3-million TRAX Grade Crossing renovation will greatly enhance UTA’s existing light-rail transit system.
